Pest Control Methods in the Modern Age

Pest control in years gone by mainly consisted of traps and the use of harsh chemicals. Many of the chemicals they used are now banned. For example, DDT is a chemical which was used widely until the late twentieth century until it was recognized a serious carcinogen.

Pest control agents now use a variety of methods including some new and some tried and true. Baits and traps are still widely used as a safe method to control pests such as rodents and insects. But they also use more modern sprays which have little to no effect on creatures outside of insect nervous systems.

According to Paul from Pest Control in Melbourne, Florida, modern pest control is safe and effective. “We’ve had results in recent years which exceed those from previous decades. Modern chemicals are targeted at insects specifically. We also still use proven methods such as traps and baits which pests take back to their nest or hives.”

When it comes to larger pests or bees, they use professional trappers and hive relocation specialists. Any creature which interferes with the life of a human is considered a pest. This includes roaches, rats, mice, ants and even insects which devour crops on farms, which deprives humans from receiving food.

Since the dawn of time there has been a constant battle between nature and humans. When critters invade our personal space or contaminate the food supply they are taken especially seriously.

Keeping pests at bay is the full-time job of professional pest control agents in Florida as well as just about anywhere in the world. Pests can track in disease and make your family sick and that should never be taken lightly.
